Helen Martin, Age 80 - Osteoporosis Recovery Story
Helen's Story is from the Jan/Feb 2007 issue of the "Back to the Garden" Free Magazine Published by "Hallelujah Acres" www.hacres.com the Headquarters for "The Hallelujah Diet", a Vegetarian Diet.
"At 74 years of Age, I was hit, just like that, with Polymyalgia Rheumatica...an Inflammatory Disease that Causes Muscle Soreness and Stiffness, mainly in the Neck Shoulders, Upper Arms, Hips and Thighs. It can come on Gradually or literally overnight, and it almost always strikes People over 50.
Prior to this New Diagnosis, I had Suffered with Arthritis and OSTEOPOROSIS and was in Constant Pain, Suffering Stiffness from my Head to my Toes. I could neither turn my Head nor Lift my Arms, could hardly use my Hands and my Legs were Stiff. It took me an Hour and a Half to get Moving in the Morning.
I thought I was Eating Right with a little bit of Chicken, a little bit of Fish, some Cottage Cheese, Yogurt and all the other stuff on the Standard American Diet. I was in Prayer to God to Heal Me or Give me Direction.
My Son and Daughter-in-Law, Wayne and Deborah Martin, both Hallelujah Acres Health Ministers, said they were coming to visit, and told me not to prepare any Food. I was planning to make a Meal of Lasagna for them with Brownies for Dessert.
Instead they brought with them all Kinds of Fresh Fruits, Vegetables...and Carrots for Juicing, plus a Juicing Machine. They taught me How to Eat God's Way. We Prayed and Shared all Weekend.
Six Years ago, (Age 74) after that Visit by my Son and Daughter-in-Law, I went off Coffee, cold turkey. At the very same time, I did something else cold turkey - I went on the Hallelujah Diet - and have not looked back.
I've Eliminated Sugar, Salt, White Flour, Dairy, Caffeine.
Today, at 80 Years Young, I am Medication Free, and I NO LONGER SUFFER from Polymyalgia Rheumatica, Arthritis or OSTEOPOROSIS...My Bone Density has INCREASED 17%.
I live in Naples, Florida, so I enjoy God's great Creation everyday as I WALK 3 Miles, Swim my 25 Laps in the Pool, and EXERCISE almost Daily. I've yielded to God's Way of Eating, don't want to be where I was. If you always do what you have always done, you'll always get what you always had.
